I love finding out stuff like this, especially at this time of the year and this close to the big elections. Apparently the domain sarapailin.com is available to rent. In addition there are all types of questions about who actually owns the McCain Domain.
How people would ever know in advance to register the domain name for Sarah Palin is beyond me. But I guess people are cyber-squatting on every name of anyone even remotely in the public eye. Luckily I have registered my family name, children’s name, and every different spelling even close to my name I could think of just in case any of us ever become stars!
I found these stories on an entertaining news blog called Single Pill. It is a good read and one I enjoyed when finding this information to post here. Check it out!
In the past SIX MONTHS I have purchased 1 pair of jeans from Express, 1 pair of khaki pants for work from Walmart, a few shirts here and there and 1 pair of Nike sneakers that were on sale at Dick’s sporting goods. I MIGHT have spent $100-150 total and that was over a 6 month period.
Today the AP reported that “the Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other “campaign accessories” in September for the McCain campaign after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the ticket as his running mate.” $150,000!!????????!! ON WHAT? (more…)
Who else thinks that both of these guys aren’t that impressive? I keep watching and hoping to be inspired by one of the candidates. But both seem to fall short for me. On top of everything else I have my concerns about McCain’s age, views on religion, abortion, and choice for VP. At the same time I worry about Obama’s experience, past relationships with some questionable individuals, and ability to manage the country’s foreign policy and relations with the rest of the world.
So I eagerly watch the debates to see which man feels more “presidential” to me. With only a few weeks to go I still don’t know clearly who I am going to vote. And my current confusion does not seem to be an isolated case. Many in this country are divided and undecided. Many have issues with both candidates that make neither the standout leader for their support. (more…)
I saw this on another site so full credit goes to them for finding this, but I agree that it is brilliant. Please make sure to check out the Pink Sheep of the Family site where I got this info. I agree with the guys over at Pink Sheep that this is a fantastic video! Whoever did this video is incredibly talented with the dubbing.
Make sure to stick with the video till after the opening song. George W. Bush is Rose - the dumb one. / John McCain is Sophia - the old one. / Hillary Clinton is Dorothy - the mean one. / Sarah Palin is Blanche - the slutty one. / Barack Obama is the African American woman.
“A Really Bad Disney Movie.” This one line sums up what Matt Damon said publicly a few days ago and many people have felt privately since her announcement as VP candidate was made.
This is about the most honest and straight forward attack on Palin’s qualifications, or lack of them, yet. I think that this could be the first of many high profile stars that come out and openly question the decision to put her one heartbeat from the Oval Office.
The Women Against Sarah Palin site claims the following:
On Wednesday, September 3, we sent out an email to 40 friends and colleagues asking them to respond to Sarah Palin’s candidacy as Vice President of the United States. They forwarded the letter to their friends across America. To date, we have received more than 120,000 responses from women of all ages and backgrounds. Below are their voices.
You can read comment after comment from women, including Republicans who seem to be outraged with the Republican VP candidate. Interesting reading.
NO Politics on September 11th. Finally a good decision made by the Democrats and the Republicans TOGETHER. It did seems that McCain was having some problems walking up the ramp. That was a little bit of a concern, but overall they seemed to tolerate each other.
McCain, Obama put politics aside to mark Sept. 11. NEW YORK (AP) — Presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama made ground zero their common ground for one rare day, free of politics and infused with memory. Putting their partisan contest on a respectful hold, they walked together Thursday into the great pit where the World Trade Center once stood and, as one, honored the dead from the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. I am still trying to figure it out. Broken down to the most basic levels the Presidential race is a straight forward competition. One side against the other with winner take all for at least four years. Sure it is for the Presidency of the United States, but in the end it is a popularity contest. A big deciding factor for the voting public is who each candidate’s Vice President pick is. That being said I keep coming back to the same question about Sarah Palin. Was she the best republican candidate available.
Forget for one minute any of her views on anything and ask yourself this one simple question. Was she the SINGLE one person who would be the biggest help to John McCain’s chances to win the competition? Was there was not one other person who would have given him a better chance to win then an obscure and relatively unknown brand new politician from Alaska? (more…)
All of a sudden it seems all I hear about it Tim Pawlenty. People are talking about him. Some are even excited about him. Is he the savior of the Republican party? Can he be the running mate that McCain needs to help him combat Obama’s movie star coverage and national recognition?
I seem to see him on almost every channel and every time I turn on my TV. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night, turned on the CNN Headline News channel and there he was on Glenn Beck’s show. How is it that I just did not know that much about the suddenly popular Governor of Minnesota? If this guy is going to be McCain’s VP running mate I better know more about him. So off to do research I went.
Let’s start with the basics. You can see a nice summary about him on the Minnesota state website HERE. I was especially impressed by the following: (more…)
