This week Sarah Palin was photographed on the beach in Hawaii wearing a McCain campaign visor, however she blacked out McCain’s name with a Sharpie. So maybe she is recycling a perfectly good visor, that she feels was “so last year.” Or… intentionally drawing attention to herself because, for liberal media, this qualifies as news.

That was not the case when Ms. Palin responded to the accusations her hat wearing behavior was a “frontal attack on Sen. John McCain.” Palin has explained it was a simple attempt to “be incognito” while on holiday in Hawaii. She made a statement, ” I am sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way… I adore John McCain, support him 100% and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito.”

Where is the logic? Scribbling out your party’s campaign name on a visor is an effective solution to disguise yourself? This may be news to you Ms. Palin, but you couldn’t disguise yourself in a burqa. The message these photos signify is either pure ignorance, or she’s broke, in which the former seems more accurate. Her cognitive process while packing went something like this, “I need something to go incognito on the beach. I got it! I’ll just pack my McCain 08 visor.” Your new book was a bestseller from pre-orders alone, and you’re saying you couldn’t buy a new hat for vacation, better yet, pay someone to go buy a hat for you? I’m not buying what she’s selling. Ms. Palin it would be in your best interest to refrain from making further illogical decisions such as this, from here on out. Incognito or not, liberal media is all over you for anything and everything. Shockingly, this weak attempt to “be incognito” failed. What’s your address? I’ll send you a new hat as an early Christmas present.

Although Tiger Woods may be back in the fairway from the law, his personal life is still in the rough. He received a careless driving citation and four points on his driving record for his single car crash into a fire hydrant and tree. The Florida Highway Patrol has completed their investigation and Tiger is home free. Unfortunately for Tiger, that is not where trouble ends.

The same day his driving citation was issued, Mr. Woods released a statement regarding the recent events regretting his “transgressions”… err adulterous behaviors which have sparked a media whirlwind. John Daly is stoked because he may have just found himself a new Hooters wing man. Nike and Gatorade have both stated they are too heavily invested in Woods to cut his endorsements, and they are absolutely okay with Woods using their endorsements to pay some home wreckers off to keep their promiscuous mouths shut.

Even though his estimated worth is about a billion dollars, his current situation is reasonably undesirable. But who says money can’t buy love? For Tiger Woods anything has its price. He has reportedly offered his wife a seven digit Christmas present to withstand the union as well as renegotiated their prenuptial agreement. Americans and particularly sports fans are very forgiving to personal short comings and unless the big “D” is in Tiger’s near future the media will soon disperse. Especially when he attains his next victory on the Tour.

It is extremely disappointing for Tiger to be chalked up aside Kobe and the likes. However, with this notch on his belt, Tiger is now eligible to follow a career in politics if desired to do so. So if the intentions of his transgressions were political resume building, this media blitz has been a remarkable success.

In Palin’s newly released memoir, she has confessed her love for consuming meat. Her philosophy is that, “If God had not intended for us to eat animals, how come He made them out of meat?” This is a real excerpt from her book; she really wrote this. The intertextuality with Jessica Simpson and “Chicken of the Sea” is uncanny. At least Simpson did not pursue a career in politics. Ms. Palin then continues to say, ” there’s plenty of room for all Alaska’s animals– right next to the mashed potatoes.”

It is easy to laugh at the lack of intelligence in her statement, but the context in which she uses it is quite funny. Ms. Palin’s statement is poking fun at hosting a vegan for dinner at her home. She says, “I could whip them up a salad, then explain my philosophy on being a carnivore.” Most people can appreciate the humor, however she surely has angered a few PETA activists who “would rather go naked.” She continues, “I love meat… I eat pork chops, thick bacon burgers… But I especially love moose and caribou.” At least she didn’t say she likes to hunt and eat polar bear. She might, but she didn’t say it.

This Thanksgiving, Palin and her family will gather around a feast, celebrating gratitude, and she will be thankful that God made turkeys our of meat… so that we can eat them. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

After the unfortunate events Monday, where 18 Americans were killed in Afghanistan, President Obama departed D.C by Marine One to Dover Air Force Base in the late hours Wednesday night to meet the bodies. Those 18 Americans add to the death toll as the most fatal month in Afghanistan for Americans. In the current events leading up to this Dover visit, Obama has received much criticism for his actions on proceeding in Afghanistan.

In mixed responses, some praise the President’s efforts for paying respect to the American heroes upon their arrival to their homeland, and appreciate the humanity of the Commander in Chief. Sadly, others believe it is just another publicity stunt as if Obama is still campaigning to the Americans and is beating around the Bush (no pun intended) in his decision for Afghanistan. Regardless of Obama’s agenda, those fallen sons and daughters deserve the utmost respect and honor for their service to our nation.

The GOP is really laying the pressure on Obama because they believe the troops overseas are in danger if they do not get more help. The additional 18 Americans killed Monday only reinforce their beliefs. Senator John McCain (AZ) is one who has strongly criticized Obama for taking too much time in his decision making, as he believes if decisions are made more swiftly, the President has an opportunity to prevent similar events.

Even the lefts are supporting the troop surge, as Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) stated on the deployment of more troops, ” In my mind, you should pay for the cost whatever way.” This is a valid statement from chairman of the House Appropriations Defense subcommittee, in control of funding operations in Afghanistan. Murtha says, “You can take it out of other programs or you can raise taxes.”

From the White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, who accompanied Obama to Dover Air Force Base, stated the President’s decision proceeding in Afghanistan is near its end. But has it already been to long?

In the opinion of former Vice President Dick Cheney, President Obama appears “afraid to make a decision” on the proceedings in Afghanistan. Thank you Captain Obvious!

During a conservative gathering, President Barack Obama’s harshest critic, Cheney, is never hesitant to spare his two cents when it comes to the President’s actions. He declared, “The White House must stop dithering while America’s armed force are in danger.” Yes, it would seem impulsive for Obama to pull the trigger without much consideration (i.e. he doesn’t want to shoot his friend in the face). However, with the recommendations of General Stanley McChrystal, commander of troops in Afghanistan, this certainly is a time sensitive matter.

Obama does have an obligation to generate a solution or come to consensus for his commander. Cheney said, “Having announced his Afghanistan strategy last March, President Obama now seems afraid to make a decision, and unable to provide his commander on the ground with the troops he needs to complete his mission.” Surely, General McChrystal offered a lengthy explanation for his recommendation to deploy more troops, therefore Cheney’s statements are redundant. Cheney, have you been in a cave for the last two weeks?

Certainly, the President is playing a bit of a waiting game, however Obama’s decision truly will reflect whether he can “make good on his promise” as Cheney said. The critical element in this situation is prioritizing the support of the men and women overseas. If they need more support as General McChrystal recommends, it would be in the President’s best interest to act swiftly and responsibly.

In a lengthy and emotional interview with The Associated Press in his Statehouse office, the governor described five meetings with Maria Belen Chapur over the past year, including two romantic, multi-night stays with her in New York before they met there again intending to break up.

He said he met her two other times, including their first meeting in 2001 at an open-air dance spot in Uruguay.

“There was some kind of connection from the very beginning,” he told The Associated Press, though he said neither that meeting nor a 2004 coffee date in New York during the Republican National Convention were romantic.

His interview was the first disclosure of any liaisons with Chapur in the United States and contradicted a public confession last week during which Sanford admitted to a total of five encounters over their eight-year relationship.

He previously announced he would reimburse the state for money spent during a government trip to Brazil and Argentina in June 2008 when he saw Chapur. It was then, he said, that their relationship became physical, and the e-mails they’d exchanged for years reflected their anguish over what they had done.

“Now I am frightened,” he told the AP, describing his state of mind at the time. “It was before safe. But now it’s not safe. We gotta put the genie back in the bottle.”

He insists no public money was used for any other meetings with her.

He saw Chapur again in mid-June of this year, visiting Argentina without telling his staff he was going to be out of the country. He instead led them to believe he was hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

By the time he returned to a puzzled public, staff and family, his public image and emotional state had unraveled. He admitted the affair at a rambling press conference.

Now Sanford is attempting to salvage his personal and professional lives. He and wife Jenny, parents of four sons, say they are trying to reconcile their 20-year marriage but have not been sharing the same house for several weeks. Jenny Sanford found out about the relationship in January when she discovered a letter the governor had written to his mistress. She did not immediately return a message seeking comment Tuesday.

The governor said he met Chapur in Punta Del Este, Uruguay, in 2001 after his final term in Congress and before his first term as governor. He said the two struck up an e-mail correspondence after meeting on a dance floor — a chance encounter during which he counseled her into the night about her failing marriage.

For the next seven-plus years, Sanford said, the two exchanged messages, sometimes sporadically.

They met in New York two more times in 2008: two nights in Manhattan in September and three nights in the Hamptons in November. Each time, Sanford claims he flew coach, paid for it himself, paid for the hotels in cash and told his staff he was reachable via cell phone.

“At that point I was very careful, everything was paid for in cash,” Sanford said. “And you won’t find a credit card record.”

In early 2009, after Jenny Sanford discovered the affair, the couple went into counseling. She has told The Associated Press that he asked her several times to visit the mistress and she refused.

But the governor claims he wanted to end the affair in person and, with his wife’s permission, went to New York with a “trusted spiritual adviser” serving as chaperone. The three went to church and dinner together and parted ways the same night.

But he visited Chapur again in Argentina on June 18, the trip that brought the whole affair to light.

Goodbye old friend. Been a fun 6 years together, but this is my last visit. No way you will see my ass here ever again. Time to let someone else clean up my mess.

With literally NOTHING left to do but watch “the store” and make sure things don’t get even worse then they already are, outgoing President Bush made a surprise visit to Iraq today. The only reason I can think that he made the secret trip was to say goodbye to his best friend in the world - Iraq. Without Iraq President Bush would not have any friends at all.

U.S. President George W. Bush made an unannounced farewell visit to Baghdad on Sunday, just weeks before he leaves office and bequeaths the unpopular Iraq war to President-elect Barack Obama.

Slipping out of the White House over the weekend, Bush flew secretly to the Iraqi capital to hold talks with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and address a rally of U.S. troops. “Bush has come to meet Iraqi leaders, thank the troops and celebrate the new security agreement,” a White House official said. Source.

Celebrate??? Celebrate what? If the war was completely over today what would we have gained? What benefit has this entire war had for the American people? While gas prices are currently lower today there is no guarantee that they wont go right back up again. During this war they reached the highest prices in our country’s history and in some places 2-3 times higher then ever before.

During this war the country has slipped into the worst economic situation in decades with no end in site. While not completely due to the war, it surely had something to do with it it. Hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars have been spent on a war that the majority of the country now openly thinks was a mistake. In hindsight and considering the bailouts and financial mess our economy is currently in, this money have been used INSIDE OUR BORDERS for better purposes.

The decision to land in broad daylight reflected confidence that Baghdad was more secure this time than during Bush’s last visit to the capital in 2006 when sectarian violence was raging. Source.

More secure then what?? Six years into this war OVER 4200 Americans have been killed and there are still 140,000 armed US troops in Iraq. 140,000 trained soldiers with lots of guns and weapons. Of course it is “safer”, but not more secure. We can’t even leave because we are afraid of the situation getting worse then before we arrived. Does that make any sense?

Bush leaves the White House with public approval ratings near record lows, partly due to Iraq. The war has also damaged U.S. credibility abroad.

Goodbye old friend. Thanks for all the memories.

From the Huffington Post:
Some videos you just have to see to believe. On Thursday, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin appeared in Wasilla in order to pardon a local turkey in anticipation of Thanksgiving. This proved to be a slightly absurd but ultimately unremarkable event. But what came next was positively surreal. After the pardon Palin proceeded to do an interview with a local TV station while the turkeys were being SLAUGHTERED in the background!! Seemingly oblivious to the gruesomeness going on over her shoulder, she carries on talking for over three minutes. Watch the video below to see for yourself. Be warned, it’s kind of gruesome

Today I was sent a link to a site with a new cartoon attacking President Bush. The site is yet another attack on Bush and hits on just about everything associated with the things people hate him for over the past 8 years. The site features a relatively humorous video with pretty good graphics. The video is filled with bush jokes and place to sign up to be part of some sort of send off for the President when his term officially ends in a few months.

What I wonder is if sites like this will end up being right on about President Bush’s time in office, or history will judge him as a leader who led our country during a difficult time of war that was started by the worst terrorist attack on our country in history? It is easy and fashionable to attack him now, but what will be said in 20 years?

Regardless of how the history books end up writing about him, I think we all agree it is time to make some changes, get the troops home safely as soon as possible and figure out a way to improve the economy. The video is humorous and worth at least one viewing.

Apparently the domain sarapailin.com is available to rent. In addition there are all types of questions about who actually owns the McCain Domain.

How people would ever know in advance to register the domain name for Sarah Palin is beyond me. But I guess people are cyber-squatting on every name of anyone even remotely in the public eye. Luckily I have registered my family name, children’s name, and every different spelling even close to my name I could think of just in case any of us ever become stars!

I found these stories on an entertaining news blog called Single Pill. It is a good read and one I enjoyed when finding this information to post here. Check it out!
