The Clinton’s Only Child Tied the Knot »

clintonwedding
The daughter and only child of former president Bill Clinton and his husband wife, Hilary, Chelsea Clinton tied the knot with her longtime beau, Marc Mezvinsky. Honestly, can you imagine one groomsman at the altar not saying, “Don’t do it, Marc!”?

Anyway, apparently Chelsea looked really pretty (at her standard anyway) her half-uncle Roger Clinton told Entertainment Tonight, “She was more beautiful than ever,” as the 30-year-old bride walked down the aisle in a Vera Wang gown with her daddy. Roger added, “It was a great night.”

It was a grand event that took place at the lavish, Astor family palace in Rhinebeck, N.Y. One guest said, “Marc gave an eloquent speech about his love for Chelsea,” adding, “At the end of his speech, he ignored the rest of the room and looked very intense. He looked right into Chelsea’s eyes. Oh, it was something. The whole room was quiet. You could feel the energy in the room. He impressed a lot of people.”

Another guest added, “Bill’s chin began quivering and he tried to fake a smile as a tear came down his cheek. He whispered something into Chelsea’s ear, and she wiped the tear off his face. It was so touching. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.” Give me a break. There isn’t a genuine bone in his body, and it was probably the first and only honest moment in his life and that’s why he cried.

In another wedding highlight, the father of the bride gave a toast to his daughter, the newlywed. A guest said, “Bill’s toast was vintage Bill Clinton. He spoke elegantly about what it was like to welcome Marc into the family.” Another guest added, “It hit all the right marks. It was perfect.” Are you surprised? Clinton is a charismatic SOB, how do you think he became president and almost got away with an affair in the Oval Office? Anyway, as long as Chelsea doesn’t apply any of her parents’ advice to her own marriage she should be okay.

Obama to Make History on ‘The View’ »

obama
Nope, it’s not Michelle. Unfortunately, it’s actually President Barack Obama who will be making an appearance on The View. Michelle Obama would be plenty acceptable to interview and she actually could even be offered a permanent spot by the time the episode wraps. Anyway, Barack Obama will be the first current president to appear on the daytime talk show and will be recording a pre-taped interview with the five completely irrational women on Wednesday.

The hogwash interview will include topics such as his celebrity sponsors administration’s accomplishments, magazine/tabloid covers jobs, most powerful celebrity couples the economy, James Cameron’s advice the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and of course his friendship with Oprah family life in the White House. Because that’s what is most important. It’s not important that he’s the President of the United States and likely has other things on his check list to be working on instead of flying Air Force One to New York City and wasting our time and his on a daytime talk show that nobody watches anyhow. It’s a beautiful thing.

You can be sure the ladies of The View are all ecstatic about the presidential visit with the exception of Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The show is usually focused around tabloid headlines and celebrity promotional interviews. Like the time Obama went on the show in 2004 to promote his book, “Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.” What did he inherit? A green card … citizenship? Interesting.

The democratic Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell, expressed his opinion that The View may not be an appropriate forum for the sitting president of the United States. “I think the president should be accessible, should answer questions that are pre-screened, but I think there should be a little bit of dignity to the presidency.” Well, that all went out the window ages ago on late night television. So Randell suggests, “If I was advising President Obama, I’d say do as much ad hoc as you can do,” adding, “He doesn’t have to be scripted, he doesn’t have to be telepromptered.” And he may as well throw back a beer bong while he’s off the clock.

Does anyone else find it incredibly annoying how the world and the media have transformed the president into a baseball statistic? Every time President Obama pops up somewhere he’s making some sort of historical record. For example, “Today, the President will make history on The View.” Next time Obama’s going to wear a purple shirt instead of a white shirt and the headline will be “Today, the President will make history on The View. He’s never worn a purple shirt on The View ever before.” Spare me.

The White House spokesman Robert Gibbs explained, “Look, I think it is another opportunity for the president to talk to people where they are. We made a decision to put the president on Jay Leno, David Letterman, The View, because that’s where — people have busy lives and it’s best to go where they are. And I think that’s what the president will do tomorrow.” Or, maybe he’ll do a stand-up comedy act about his dwindling approval ratings? Because that’s a winner EVERY time. Will somebody watch this and let us know what happens … apparently unlike our president, we have work to do.

Levi Johnston Has an Apology for the Palin Family »

levijohnston1
The father of Sarah Palin’s grandson, Levi Johnston, is hard at work making amends with baby mama, Bristol, as well as the entire Palin family. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Levi says, “Last year, after Bristol and I broke up, I was unhappy and a little angry. Unfortunately, against my better judgment, I publicly said things about the Palins that were not completely true,” he continued, “I have already privately apologized to Todd and Sarah. Since my statements were public, I owe it to the Palins to publicly apologize.”

What? Is he running for governor? Levi could not have sounded more like a politician in that statement. In the past, the former Alaskan governor, Sarah Palin, and Levi were in a war of words, but now Johnston has admitted he has grown up and wants to make things right with his son’s grandparents.

Bristol Palin added, “Part of co-parenting is creating healthy and honest relationships between the parents. Tripp one day needs to know the truth and needs to know that even if a mistake is made the honorable thing to do is to own up to it.”

In Johnston’s public apology to the family, he says, “So to the Palin family in general and to Sarah Palin in particular, please accept my regrets and forgive my youthful indiscretion. I hope one day to restore your trust.”

Out with McChrystal and In With Petraeus »

mcchrystalout

In the aftermath of General McChrystal’s legendary, possibly heroic, interview with Rolling Stone magazine, President Barack Obama has accepted the General’s resignation and has selected General David Petraeus to take control as top commander in Afghanistan. Beautiful! That’s excellent representation of this nation and the future of the war. The second a high commander is publicly honest about the state of affairs overseas, he’s out.

It is no secret that there is relentless division of opinion for everything that involves the strategy overseas. However the split opinion is never addressed and they continue to sweep the differences under a rug. So for the first time, a high commander tells it how it is, and he is eliminated all together. McChrystal may have said some offensive, off the cuff remarks, but at least he was honest. Something had to change. And after all, isn’t ‘Change’ President Obama’s motto?

This was an opportunity for Obamaland to walk the walk, but instead he steps up to the podium at the White House and continues to talk the talk. It’s obvious McChrystal’s remarks were impulsive and clearly he had had enough and subsequently offered his own resignation. Now that Petraeus is in the driver’s seat, what is going to change? Obama said in his speech, “It is the right thing for our mission in Afghanistan, for our military and our country.”

How’s this for Obama propaganda? The President believes McChrystal’s explosive remarks demoralize the civilian control of the military “at the core of our democratic system.” Additionally, Obama said, “I believe this mission demands unity of effort across our alliance and across my national security team… I don’t think that we can sustain that unity of effort and achieve our objectives in Afghanistan without making this change.”

Did that really happen today? The president is delusional. The fact of the matter is, the lack of unity is detrimental to the progress and success overseas, which was one point McChrystal made in his interview, and the entire world is aware of it. However, Obama wants to “sustain that unity” that they already have? What unity? That’s what is failing! For a man empowered by change, he certainly is sitting on his hands. It doesn’t matter now, the truth is out thanks to General McChrystal, and Obama already has the broom out.

UPDATE! Joran van der Sloot Confessed to Murder »

joran-vds1
Officially, there is an ongoing manhunt for 22-year-old Dutchman, Joran van der Sloot, who is sought for the murder of a 21-year-old girl in Peru. Van der Sloot was previously arrested twice for the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, who was in Aruba for a class trip. Today, authorities confirmed van der Sloot is now the prime suspect for Sunday’s murder of a Peruvian woman, Stephany Flores, who was found dead in a Lima hotel.

The following day, the suspect crossed the border by automobile into Chile. Joran was in Peru for a poker tournament, and he appears in a hotel surveillance tape with the victim. The video shows the two together at a Lima casino early Sunday and were later seen entering the hotel by an employee.

The father of the victim, Ricardo Flores, said his daughter was dropping off her girlfriends at 2:35 a.m. then returned to the casino to meet van der Sloot. According to police chief Gen. Cesar Guardia, van der Sloot and the victim were seen entering a hotel room at approximately 5 a.m. About four hours later, the Dutchman left the hotel room alone. Guardia confirms, “We have an interview with a worker at the hotel who says she saw this foreigner with the victim enter his room.”

The victim, Stephany Flores, was found face down on the floor of the hotel room with abrasions on her face and body indicating trauma, and she was fully clothed. Signs of asphyxiation are pending with autopsy results for the actual cause of death. Sunday’s murder of Flores exactly marks the five year anniversary of Natalee Holloway’s disappearance for which van der Sloot remains the leading suspect.

According to the Dutch government, Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for van der Sloot in the Peru killing. The spokeswoman for the Aruba prosecutor’s office, Ann Angela, said, “What’s happening now is incredible. At this moment we don’t have anything to do with it, but we are following the case with great interest and if Peruvian authorities would need us, we are here.”

UPDATE!! Joran van der Sloot was arrested by police while taking a cab ride and taken into custody in downtown Santiago, Chile. The suspect has since been transferred to the Peruvian government.

UPDATE!! Monday, under questioning from Peruvian authorities, the Dutchman confessed to killing the 21-year-old, Stephany Flores, last Sunday on May 30. According to Peruvian media releases, van der Sloot became enraged after discovering Flores had used his laptop to search information of his past without his permission.

The sick bastard admitted to grabbing Flores by the neck and hitting her because she had viewed photos and videos about the Aruba case on his computer while he went to get coffee. Joran’s confession came on his thrid full day in Pervian custody, and the day before he was set to participate in reconstructing the events at the hotel leading to Flores’ slaying. Flores was beaten to death and had a broken neck.

In a statement from Natalee Holloway’s father, “He confessed to this one… I would like for him to tell everyone what happened. Hopefully this is his last victim.”

Al Gore and Wife, Tipper, Announce Split »

thegores4
Say it isn’t so! Who would’ve thought after the Clinton/Gore era, Bill and Hilary Clinton would reconcile infidelity yet Al and Tipper Gore would split after 40 years of marriage. The Gores confirmed their split via and email to Politico.

The future ex-couple made a joint statement, “We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate.” After a 40 year union, wouldn’t you just go your separate ways and not even bother putting your energy into a divorce? Seriously, think of how long it would take to reach an agreement with 40 years of crap together. They’ll be dead before a settlement is made.

And where do you go after being with someone for 40 years? It is possible either Mr. or Mrs. has kindled another flame. Why else would you separate at their age after that long of a marriage? Any thoughts?

AZ Happy to Shut it Down for LA »

welcomeaz
Dear Los Angeles,

Buy flashlights!

Best Regards,

Arizona

When Arizona Governor, Janet Brewer, signed the new immigration bill mandating authorities to determine whether a person is in the United States legally, there was an eruption of international controversy. While protesters are claiming the bill promotes racial profiling, supporters reason the bill’s assistance to decrease local crime rates.

The new immigration bill is expected to activate in July. As a way of protesting, the city of Los Angeles has threatened to “boycott” Arizona, which in turn could cost Arizona millions. However, L.A. should consider the repercussions of a “boycott” before they actually pull the plug. Because Arizona is happy to LITERALLY pull the plug on L.A.

The Arizona Corporation Commission oversees the state’s water and electric utilities, and has offered to accommodate LA, and cut off electricity to 25% of the city. Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce wrote a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaradigosa saying, “If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives power from Arizona-based generation,” Pierce continued, “I am confident that Arizona’s utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands.” Pierce’s letter was in response to the L.A. city council’s decision, on May 12, to boycott the state of Arizona.

Pierce’s spokesperson told CNNMoney.com, “It’s not a threat. It’s just pointing out the ramification of what L.A.’s threat would be on the boycott. If they carry out their threat to boycott Arizona, that includes 25% of their power.”

Politicians, mostly lefties, are at odds with the recent immigration commotion and saying all sort of nonsense like Senator Schumer, “You cannot pass an immigration bill unless you have bipartisan support,” the New York Democrat continued, “Right now we are unable to have a single Republican to come with us to the table to negotiate a bipartisan bill.” Oh! Is that a violin I hear playing? But it’s okay for a federal health care bill to pass without a single conservative vote? Bad news Senator, Arizona is a Red State, not a swing state. And more bad news; Arizona’s immigration bill has nearly three times the approval rating compared to President Obama’s ‘Immigration Reform.’ Cry me the Rio Grande, build a wall, and try to get over it. Oh! And don’t forget your passport!

Elizabeth Smart Captor Sentenced »

esmarttrialSeriously? What is wrong with our judicial system? It’s been eight years since Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped from her Salt Lake City bedroom at knifepoint, and the woman who pleaded guilty is finally being sentenced. Smart was only 14 when she was abducted, and held captive for nine months. She was found nine months later, walking down a street in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy, with another couple.

Wanda Eileen Barzee, 64, was sentenced on Friday to 15 years in federal prison. Yes…only 15 years! She pled guilty to federal charges of kidnapping and unlawful transportation of a minor, and she only gets 15 years! She took away the freedom of this young girl for 9 months…”I’m greatly humbled as I realize how much Elizabeth Smart has been victimized and the role I played in it,” she said. “I’m so sorry, Elizabeth, for all the pain and suffering I have caused you and your family. It is my hope that you will be able to find it in your heart to forgive me one day.”

Barzee’s husband Brian David Mitchell, is awaiting trial for the rape and kidnapping of Smart. As part of Barzee’s plea agreement, she agreed to testify in pending state and federal cases against her husband. Smart testified last October that Mitchell raped her almost daily during the nine months she was held captive. Smart was also forced into a polygamous marriage with the one-time traveling street preacher.

Smart’s mother delivered strong words to Barzee who stood just a few feet away from her in the court room, “Wanda Barzee, what you did to our family and to our girl Elizabeth was wrong. It was wrong and it was evil,” Lois Smart said in the courtroom. “Mothers don’t do that to mothers…Mothers don’t do that to children.”

Mitchell’s federal trial is set to start November 1.

Laura Bush Openly Disagrees With George »

laurabush
Upon the launch of her memoir “Spoken from the Heart,” former First Lady, Laura Bush has let the cat out of the bag on two very critical social issues; abortion and gay marriage. In a recent interview on Larry King Live, Mrs. Bush has confirmed she disagrees with her husband George on both gay marriage and abortion.

After over eight years, Laura Bush has finally broken her silence as she embarks on her book tour. She explained that she and the former President “disagree” when it comes to gay marriage. She acknowledges she has been questioned over the years about her opinion and her response now is “I understand totally what George thinks and what other people think about marriage being between a man and a woman. And it’s a real, you know, reversal for them to accept gay marriage.”

Larry King asked Laura if she could accept gay marriage and she answered, “I think we could, yeah, ” continuing about the legalization of same-sex marriage, “Yeah, that will come, I think.” Laura acknowledged the social issue of the 2000 election being abortion and gay marriage in 2004. Both for which she had kept her personal opinion mum.

On the morning of her husband’s inauguration in 2001, Mrs. Bush was interviewed by obnoxious Katie Couric, and she recalls Katie “asked two questions about abortion, and then she asked me if I was for the overturn of Roe versus Wade… This was the very morning my husband was about to be inaugurated. And I thought, do I really want to start my husband’s presidency, you know, suggesting that a Supreme Court rule being overturned? And I said, ‘no.’” She still holds that opinion saying abortion should “remain legal, because I think it’s important for people, for medical reasons and other reasons.”

Now that she has leaked her household’s social issue disagreements, Laura admits she was “not really” expressive about her opinion in the White House. However, she did say she and George had discussions about both issues, but they were never “argumentative.”

Nashville Floods Cost Musicians Millions »

nashville
Hundreds of Nashville’s top stars, musicians and tour support company owners are facing millions of dollars in lost equipment because of the historic floods. Brad Paisley is amongst those affected by the flood, and now his H2O Tour is drenched. Paisley is among roughly a thousand other musicians who house their gear at Soundcheck Nashville, a storgage rental facility by the flooded Cumberland River. The owner, Ben Jumper, stated the 160,000 square foot facility is all flooded and the losses are an estimated tens of millions.

The Brad Paisley H2O staging and props are all under water, as well as most of his guitars, amps and tour equipment are destroyed. At the moment, Paisley and his crew are scrambling to find replacements as well as rehearsal space as the tour starts in two weeks at Virginia Beach, VA. In a phone interview with the Associated Press, the country crooner joked, “I sent a Tweet the other day that basically told people that when they come to the show just know that what you’re seeing has been fully tested under water,” Paisley continued, ” This is the H2O Tour. This isn’t posers acting like we know about it. We’ve done it, buddy.”

In addition to Paisley, Keith Urban lost his gear, and it has been reported Vince Gill has lost an entire collection of guitars, including irreplaceable vintage pieces. LeAnn Rimes has lost a trailer full of her road gear, which is probably under about 3 to 8 feet of water. Rimes’ guitarist, Ryan Wariner is trying to remain optimistic, but they’re not finding a lot of reason for hope. “Everything that I use but two guitars is in there - pedals, amps, speakers, mics, front house consoles, everything was in there,” says Wariner.

It has been quite an upset for Music City. Soundcheck Nashville was among other important music landmarks, including the Grand Ole Opry House and the Country Music Hall of Fame also have flood damage.

MooTV owner, Scott Scovill, supplies massive video screens and other high-tech gear for concert tours, and he has taken the humanistic approach saying, “Compared to losing someone you care about or your home, all of this can be replaced.” Dozens of people have been killed and thousands of homes have been damaged in the floods.

Kenny Chesney is among the thousands whose homes have been damaged or even destroyed in the wake of the floods. The Nashville floodwaters have literally consumed the country star’s home. Chesney’s publicist explained his house will likely be condemned because the water has risen to the second floor. The gym in his home containing all of his sports memorabilia, including his own high school items in addition to professional sports and pictures with friendly athletes. Chesney was out of state working on another project when the flooding occurred. The cleanup process has begun and people are beginning to assess the damage done.
