A new strict Arizona law was passed on Friday that allows law enforcement to question members of the public in which they suspect could be living in the states illegally. It also requires immigrants to carry their documentation with them at all times, proving that they are legal in the states. President Obama called the law “misguided.” Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed “misguided” Senate Bill 1070 just hours later.
State Senator Russel Pearce said, “States have the inherent right to enforce the laws of our country. Arizona will set the pace. We are a nation of laws. We will lead the charge in Arizona to defend the U.S. Constitution. Arizona will do away with sanctuary cities and the sanctuary state. We want to let law enforcement do its job. We can’t continue with weak-kneed politicians.”
Many people are speaking out about this new measure. Including Puerto Rican pop singer, Ricky Martin. The Latin singer turned to Twitter, he tweeted: “Equality is understanding that we all come from the same place. Racial profiling should never be tolerated, in the U.S. or anywhere in the world. We’re moving backwards. Scary.”
He was joined by comedian George Lopez who tweeted, “ARIZONA..George Lopez is coming..Oops..I just got pulled over..Apparently I fit the profile..Gacho!!” He later tweeted, “AZ announces the first Spray Tanning Shop that sprays you lighter “the casper”..Tougher to Profile.”
“The crackdown in ARIZONA continues..The New Taco Bell TORTADA has been outlawed .by GOV Jan Brewer..As a treat to the Colon”s of her people !” and, “The changing the name of PATRON to make it more ARIZONA friendly..Now..PAT RON.”
Oh,Lopez. You sure do have jokes!
Actress Eva Longoria Parker and Latina actress Jessica Alba joined the protest and re-tweeted both stars messages. Parker wrote, “The recent legislation in Arizona threatens to undermine basic notions of fairness.”
What do you think of the new law?

Doris Haddock, also known as Granny D, died on Tuesday night, March 9, at her son’s home in Dublin, New Hampshire. The wise political activist had been suffering from chronic respiratory illness, and she had recently celebrated her milestone, 100th birthday, on January 24.
Granny D became famously known for her political interest when she hiked 3,200 miles across the United States to raise awareness of monetary function in political campaigns. Haddock made the trek from Los Angeles, California all the way to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. during her political exhibition.
In July 2000, during her avocation, Granny D said, “There are so many problems in this country that need to be solved, but they need money in order to solve them. And when campaign finance reform has been enacted, that will release a great deal of money.” Did you hear that Rielle Hunter John Edwards?
Haddock actively supported Senators John McCain and Russ Feingold for authoring campaign finance legislation passed back in 2002. McCain made a statement after hearing the news of Granny D’s death saying, “I was saddened to learn of the passing of Granny D. Her inspirational efforts and hard work will never be forgotten.” Sen. Feingold added, “Her walk across America in support of campaign finance reform and returning democracy to the people inspired people of all ages and all backgrounds.”
Family spokeswoman and a dear friend of Haddock’s said, “She was active until two days before her death. She lived a very full life. Even though everyone is sad, we’re also full of joy over what she was able to accomplish.” Doris Haddock not only fulfilled political accomplishments, but she is survived by her son, 8 grandkids, and 16 great-grandkids. A century of life, wisdom, and family is an amazing accomplishment for anyone.

This week Sarah Palin was photographed on the beach in Hawaii wearing a McCain campaign visor, however she blacked out McCain’s name with a Sharpie. So maybe she is recycling a perfectly good visor, that she feels was “so last year.” Or… intentionally drawing attention to herself because, for liberal media, this qualifies as news.
That was not the case when Ms. Palin responded to the accusations her hat wearing behavior was a “frontal attack on Sen. John McCain.” Palin has explained it was a simple attempt to “be incognito” while on holiday in Hawaii. She made a statement, ” I am sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way… I adore John McCain, support him 100% and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito.”
Where is the logic? Scribbling out your party’s campaign name on a visor is an effective solution to disguise yourself? This may be news to you Ms. Palin, but you couldn’t disguise yourself in a burqa. The message these photos signify is either pure ignorance, or she’s broke, in which the former seems more accurate. Her cognitive process while packing went something like this, “I need something to go incognito on the beach. I got it! I’ll just pack my McCain 08 visor.” Your new book was a bestseller from pre-orders alone, and you’re saying you couldn’t buy a new hat for vacation, better yet, pay someone to go buy a hat for you? I’m not buying what she’s selling. Ms. Palin it would be in your best interest to refrain from making further illogical decisions such as this, from here on out. Incognito or not, liberal media is all over you for anything and everything. Shockingly, this weak attempt to “be incognito” failed. What’s your address? I’ll send you a new hat as an early Christmas present.

After the unfortunate events Monday, where 18 Americans were killed in Afghanistan, President Obama departed D.C by Marine One to Dover Air Force Base in the late hours Wednesday night to meet the bodies. Those 18 Americans add to the death toll as the most fatal month in Afghanistan for Americans. In the current events leading up to this Dover visit, Obama has received much criticism for his actions on proceeding in Afghanistan.
In mixed responses, some praise the President’s efforts for paying respect to the American heroes upon their arrival to their homeland, and appreciate the humanity of the Commander in Chief. Sadly, others believe it is just another publicity stunt as if Obama is still campaigning to the Americans and is beating around the Bush (no pun intended) in his decision for Afghanistan. Regardless of Obama’s agenda, those fallen sons and daughters deserve the utmost respect and honor for their service to our nation.
The GOP is really laying the pressure on Obama because they believe the troops overseas are in danger if they do not get more help. The additional 18 Americans killed Monday only reinforce their beliefs. Senator John McCain (AZ) is one who has strongly criticized Obama for taking too much time in his decision making, as he believes if decisions are made more swiftly, the President has an opportunity to prevent similar events.
Even the lefts are supporting the troop surge, as Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) stated on the deployment of more troops, ” In my mind, you should pay for the cost whatever way.” This is a valid statement from chairman of the House Appropriations Defense subcommittee, in control of funding operations in Afghanistan. Murtha says, “You can take it out of other programs or you can raise taxes.”
From the White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, who accompanied Obama to Dover Air Force Base, stated the President’s decision proceeding in Afghanistan is near its end. But has it already been to long?

Who else did not LOVE Letterman showing some real emotion and blasting McCain night after night. Bottom line is that he got dissed and he took it out on the guest who screwed him last minute. The guest just happened to be the Republican Presidential candidate. I added the video below so you can see it also. Real anger is always funnier then anything else.
NEW YORK (AP) — “Late Show” host David Letterman treated John McCain’s decision to cancel an appearance on his talk show more like a stupid human trick than the act of a statesman.
The Republican presidential candidate said he was halting his campaign activities Wednesday, citing the need to deal with the nation’s financial crisis, and called Letterman to drop out (more…)

I am still trying to figure it out. Broken down to the most basic levels the Presidential race is a straight forward competition. One side against the other with winner take all for at least four years. Sure it is for the Presidency of the United States, but in the end it is a popularity contest. A big deciding factor for the voting public is who each candidate’s Vice President pick is. That being said I keep coming back to the same question about Sarah Palin. Was she the best republican candidate available.
Forget for one minute any of her views on anything and ask yourself this one simple question. Was she the SINGLE one person who would be the biggest help to John McCain’s chances to win the competition? Was there was not one other person who would have given him a better chance to win then an obscure and relatively unknown brand new politician from Alaska? (more…)

All of a sudden it seems all I hear about it Tim Pawlenty. People are talking about him. Some are even excited about him. Is he the savior of the Republican party? Can he be the running mate that McCain needs to help him combat Obama’s movie star coverage and national recognition?
I seem to see him on almost every channel and every time I turn on my TV. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night, turned on the CNN Headline News channel and there he was on Glenn Beck’s show. How is it that I just did not know that much about the suddenly popular Governor of Minnesota? If this guy is going to be McCain’s VP running mate I better know more about him. So off to do research I went.
Let’s start with the basics. You can see a nice summary about him on the Minnesota state website HERE. I was especially impressed by the following: (more…)

It looks like we have a real problem this year. Hillary is proving herself to be a whole lot like her untruthful husband Bill and a big fat liar. If she was close behind in the race for the Democrat nomination, she now has taken a whole step backward.
But then again Obama has been running a campaign primarily on one word “change”. There even is a drinking game based on it. I love it. But is one word enough to get elected? And as recently posted here, his associations with certain individuals has come under recent scrutiny and rightly so.
And then we have 70 something year old John McCain, who loves to counter a good inquiry with a quick you little jerk! (more…)
