Who else saw the rock concert in Denver last night? You know the one with over 80,000 screaming fans in a football stadium cheering, dancing, singing, and screaming until they lost their voices. Stevie Wonder and Micheal McDonald performed and electrified the crowd. And oh yea … Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech to officially be the candidate for the Democrat party.

There was lots of news and media coverage and for a week it was all Democrats all the time. It was interesting to see but I wonder how many people watched, but didn’t actually listen. Madonna has done it again. She has somehow made herself newsworthy. In the past she has resorted to nudity, sex, lesbianism, poor acting, more nudity, more sex, kissing Britney, marrying many men and now….HITLER. Should we be applauding her for her for being one of the most successful media whores in history or be embarrassed that this time she has reached a new low, if that was even possible.

Madonna, who kicked off her “Sticky and Sweet” world tour at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff yesterday, made the ,swipe during a performance of Get Stupid, when Mr McCain’s image was flashed up alongside images of the Führer and Zimbabwean dictator, as well as destruction and global warming. In a none-too-subtle contrast, Barack Obama was bracketed in a subsequent sequence alongside Mahatma Gandhi, John Lennon and Al Gore. (more…)

What would any major party do in an election year and with the sudden absence of its leading candidate? We almost found out last month.

Just 41 seconds after discovering he no longer had full control of the plane’s up and down movements, the pilot told an FAA air traffic controller “at this time we would like to declare an emergency and also have CFR [crash equipment] standing by in St. Louis.”

An FAA spokesperson acknowledged today that its statements at the time of “no emergency” were wrong…

All of a sudden it seems all I hear about it Tim Pawlenty. People are talking about him. Some are even excited about him. Is he the savior of the Republican party? Can he be the running mate that McCain needs to help him combat Obama’s movie star coverage and national recognition?

I seem to see him on almost every channel and every time I turn on my TV. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night, turned on the CNN Headline News channel and there he was on Glenn Beck’s show. How is it that I just did not know that much about the suddenly popular Governor of Minnesota? If this guy is going to be McCain’s VP running mate I better know more about him. So off to do research I went.

Why are we even debating this? Why is this even news? I don’t care if death row inmate Richard Cooey is 100 pounds or 1000. He RAPED and MURDERED 2 women.

His argument is that Topamax, a drug he is taking for migraine headaches could affect the execution process. The drug is a type of seizure medication which MAY have created a resistance to thiopental, the drug used to put inmates to sleep before two other lethal drugs are administered. Let’s take a step backwards for a minute. WHY EXACTLY is he even getting the Topamax. He is a convicted killer and we (the public who is paying for his incarceration) are paying for medicine to make his stay in jail more comfortable?? What in the world is going on? Next question. This guy is 5 foot 7 and 267 pounds. How did he get so fat? What is he being fed in jail? A buffet? (more…)
