Quick Question: Why did Obama not take this stance months ago? Who advised him to be soft on Wright initially? That person should be fired! Seems like a no-brainer to me.
As the democratic circus rolls through North Carolina we FINALLY saw Obama officially running (sprinting!) away from the seemingly endless controversy surrounding his former pastor Rev. Wright
“I am outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle that we saw yesterday,” Obama told reporters at a news conference in Hickory, NC. This comment came after Wright made three public appearances in four days to defend himself. In each appearance he has continued his wild rants, negative comments about the government and country, and hinted about his continued ties to Obama. Talk about trying to stretch your 15 minutes of fame (embarrassment!) (more…)

A 10 point win in Pennsylvania this late in the game would normally be cause for celebration. And for a brief period last night and today it was for Hillary. But a WWE-like brawl is coming soon on the convention floor in Denver and the big question is if she have any money for a new sexy skintight wrestling suit?
Attention now turns completely to Indiana (a tight race in the Hoosier state right now) and North Carolina (where Obama is currently favored and my home state coincidentally). After the win on Tuesday night Clinton raised almost $3.5 million dollars after being declared the winner. Normally this also would be very positive.
But earlier this week her campaign revealed it had just over $9 million in the bank at the end of March, matched by $10 million in debt. Obama began April with more than $40 million to spend. That is a HUGE difference. (more…)

…And that is when OUR government does business with these promoters of child molestation. You can read the entire story here. CNN has reported that apparently the U.S. government paid more than $1.7 million in defense contracts over the last decade to companies owned by leaders of Warren Jeffs’ polygamous sect, with tens of thousands allegedly finding its way back to Jeffs and his church.
How in the world does something like this happen?? And to make matters even worse “some of the deals were made after Jeffs was named to the FBI’s “Most-Wanted List” and remained in place while he was on the run”. Are our politicians completely stupid or do they just think that we are stupid? (more…)

I love my Bud Light. I admit it is somewhat pedestrian and there is nothing fancy or micro brewed about it, but it is my beer of choice and I like it. So when I recently heard about the proposed plan in California to increase the excise tax on beer to raise 2 BILLION DOLLARS I was outraged. I know California is already a little crazy with all of their excise taxes, but this was to much.
California Assemblyman Jim Beall, D-San Jose is the main driving force behind this new legislation. “The fallout from alcohol consumption costs Californians nearly $36 billion a year in increased health costs, crime, lost productivity and injuries from accidents and abuse,” Beall said. “It’s time for the beer industry to help us with the staggering burden it has helped to create.” WHAT?!! Is it Anheuser Busch’s fault that that some people abuse their product? Also he is not only talking about the “beer industry” that will be effected by this. It is the beer CONSUMER like me who will have to pay the higher cost to enjoy a cold brew.
This is another blatant example of penalizing the general public for the acts of a few irresponsible people! Is he going to suggest next taxing Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft for being responsible for health problems and obesity in children? (more…)

Late last night I did something I have never done before. I bought food for a homeless man. It was not a five-star meal, nor did it fulfill the basic four food groups. But to him it would be food, just plain and simple food.
It happened right in front of one of the new mega-supermarkets that are popping up all over the urban sprawl where I live. Kroger, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Walmart, Target - they are all the same. Huge, bright, undistinguished, and downright sterile, it is hard to tell one from the other. How many times have you been in one and actually forget which one you were at?
We all see the homeless everyday. Or maybe we choose not to. Nameless, they shuffle by requesting any hand out. Sometimes the faces become familiar, yet we still manage to look away. While this can continue for weeks and sometimes months, we eventually we do look. It is impossible not to. Eventually your eyes connect. Their eyes are sad, pleading, but proud. Yours are embarrassed, unsure and at times indifferent. What to do? Where will my handout go? Booze? Drugs? (more…)

I lived in NYC for 7 years and can tell you first hand how bad some of the cabs (and cab drivers) smell. But none of them smell even close to the cesspool of stink that is seeping out of Yousef al-Khattab’s yellow cab….and computer.
Originally reported on FoxNews.com, al-Khattab, formerly known as Joseph Cohen, is a New York City cabbie who operates an extremist Islamic anti-American Web site that features violent images — including mocking the deaths of GIs in Iraq — says he’s doing the country a service by “exposing the truth.” He lives in Queens and operates his sites under the “freedom of speech” excuse that many radicals regularly employ. While I may take issue with his images, videos, and words, I can not fault him for that since it is the same freedom of speech that allows me and every other blogger to voice our opinions against the puke, barf, hurl, blow chunks, upchuck, and projectile vomit of his words. You can read the entire story here and also see additional videos and images. What I find interesting is that his site seems to have been completely changed since the story came out. (more…)

To some this “war” has become increasingly similar to the popular video games they obsessively play. Almost simultaneously to the war beginning there were new video games featuring air assaults eerily similar to the real battles going on in Iraq. As Alliance troops hit the ground running and were met with gorilla resistance, the newest games mimicked the real life hand to hand fighting. As caves and bunkers were searched and bombed to ferret out Osama and his followers a new bread of games was born. And so on, and so on. I actually know people who believe they have figured out ways to end the fighting and “win” with carefully planned out offensives that they worked out and then executed on their Sony Playstations and Xbox units. What a bunch of morons. (more…)

Father drowns three young children at Baltimore Hotel on Saturday, March 29th. I am completely disgusted. This is easily the worst story I have seen for 2008. And it could have all been avoided if someone, ANYONE, would have taken the mother’s repeated SCREAMS for help seriously.
“This poor mother tried desperately to protect her children, and no one listened. And this is what happens when no one listens and that saddens me even more when three young, beautiful children are gone,” said neighbor Elaine Grove.
On March 29th Mark Castillo took his 3 children to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area. Sometime during the day he checked them all into a nearby hotel and then proceeded to DROWN each child one at a time in the bathtub. The coward then attempted to kill himself but sadly could not finish the act. (more…)

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says President Bush should consider boycotting the opening ceremony of the Olympics Games in Beijing this summer to protest China’s human rights record. WHAT??? Doesn’t she have more important things to be worrying about like unemployment?
Senator Arlen Specter, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss the league’s handling of its investigation into “Spygate”. According to Specter, he was told the Patriots’ taping of opposing teams’ signals had been going on since 2000, when Bill Belichick took over as coach.
“There was confirmation that there has been taping since 2000, when Coach Belichick took over,” said Specter. Specter has compared the NFL’s destruction of the tapes to the CIA destroying evidence. WHAT is he talking about? The CIA destroying evidence? You have to be kidding me.
Have our elected officials lost their collective minds? (more…)

On Sunday The Boston Globe reported comments made by Mario Cuomo, who came out as one of the first big name to publicly say what EVERYONE has been thinking about the escalating Clinton - Obama rumble for the democratic nomination.
“The winner will win, and the loser will be vice president. What have you got to lose, and there’s plenty to win,” Cuomo said on CNN. He made the obvious good point that both candidates are young enough to run for president again in eight years as Clinton is 60 and Obama is 46.
The best thing Cuomo suggested is that the 2 candidates agree NOW that if the fight for the nomination goes all the way to the convention this summer, that the automatic VP spot for the loser is agreed on beforehand. Hasn’t the average person watching this process been saying the same thing for about 6 months! (more…)
